I buy profitable small businesses from retiring owners and steward them for the long term — through Talanton Holdings.
I hold a degree in Economics & Finance from the University of Canterbury, and started my career at PwC in Corporate Finance, before moving to the firm's Management Consulting team in Auckland with a focus on operations and supply chain.
I then joined Grant Thornton to set up and run their Data & Analytics service, scaling it to a seven-figure business with a team of ten.
In 2022 I founded the holding company that would become Talanton Holdings, a permanent equity vehicle. Today my work spans product development, operations, client delivery and growth strategy across the group — and I'm currently focused on expanding Talanton through acquisition.
Talanton is a decentralised holding company — a permanent home for profitable New Zealand small businesses.
We buy from long-time owners looking for a careful transition, set each business up with a strong management team, and operate it as part of a portfolio of independent companies. The model is inspired by Berkshire Hathaway and Constellation Software, applied at New Zealand small-business scale.
Our principle is indefinite ownership. When a business hits its stride, we don't sell it — we build on it, compounding cash flows over a long horizon.
